The British Conifer Society has been established since February 2003. One of the society's main goals is to promote the wider use of unusual dwarf and ornamental conifer varieties in gardens. The American Conifer Society was formed in
1983 by a small group of conifer growers,
educators, enthusiasts and collectors. Specialist growers of specimen, architectural and ornamental plants, providing a good range of unusual and rare plants, especially conifers. Extremely well stocked plant centre and good display gardens. Bedgebury Pinetum Bedgebury Pinetum has one of the finest species collection of conifers in the world. Jan Slama's witches' broom garden Jan Slama lives in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He is an extremely enthusiastic collector of dwarf conifers especially those derived from witches' brooms. His web site contains information about his garden and his broom hunting trips. Contains extensive photo galleries of witches' brooms in the wild and his own comprehensive collection. Whistling Gardens Home to one of Canada's largest conifer collections, incorporating over a thousand species and varieties. Holata Jiri, Roman and Robert Holata run a small nursery and landscaping business in Kouty, Czech Republic. They are prolific broom hunters and this site has an extensive photo gallery of many of the witches' brrooms and other conifers they have collected.
